NOTES ON THE SAMPLE: the penetration coefficient, that is, the share of monitorable vehicles by Targa Telematics-Viasat thanks to this type of equipment, was less than 2% of the total circulating car fleet in Italy until 2022, which then grew to almost 3% in 2024. This translates into a sample of:

Autumn 2019: 513,722 vehicles and more than 88 million trips.
Autumn 2020: 466,126 vehicles and more than 70 million trips.
Autumn 2021: 450,690 vehicles and more than 87 million trips.
Autumn 2022: 543,427 vehicles and more than 83 million trips.
Autumn 2023: more than 1 million vehicles and more than 160 million trips.
Summer 2023: more than 1 million vehicles and more than 147 million trips.
Autumn 2024: more than 1 million vehicles and more than 170 million trips.
Summer 2024: more than 1 million vehicles and more than 153 million trips.
